About This Compound

Bacteriostatic water is the standard solvent for reconstituting lyophilised research peptides. Unlike sterile water for injection, it contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol — a preservative that inhibits microbial growth and allows the reconstituted peptide solution to be used over multiple doses (typically up to 28 days when refrigerated).

Each batch is sterile-filtered through a 0.22 µm membrane and endotoxin-tested to meet USP standards. This is the same grade of diluent used in clinical pharmaceutical reconstitution.

Choose the right size: 3 ml is the standard single-dose research format. 10 ml is more economical for ongoing studies or higher-volume reconstitution protocols.

Why bacteriostatic

0.9% benzyl alcohol preserves the reconstituted peptide solution for up to 28 days. Plain sterile water requires single-dose use only.

Reconstitution math

Volume × peptide mg per vial = mg/ml concentration. Most peptides reconstitute to 1–2 mg/ml for accurate sub-mg dosing.

Storage

Sealed vial — room temperature. Once punctured, refrigerate and use within 28 days. Discard if cloudy or particulate.
